Setting Up a Box Account

Launch a Web browser, navigate to Box (link in Resources) and click the “Sign up” icon in the upper right-hand corner . Choose the type of account you want to sign up for: free user account, business account or enterprise account. Each account has varying benefits, including storage space and upload speed.

Click “Sign Up Now” under the column that represents the plan you’ve chosen. You’ll be taken to a new page.

Fill out the required information, including name, email address and phone number. Click “Continue” to submit your information. Log into your email account and then open the email sent from Box to confirm your email address.

Scroll down the LinkedIn home page until you see the “Add an application” button on the right-hand side.

Hover your cursor over the “Add an application” button and then click the “Box.com Files” option that appears. You’ll automatically be taken to a new page. Click the “Add Application” button under the “Application Info” section.

Click the “Log In” button, and then sign into your Box account.

Click the “Upload” button, which will automatically launch Windows Explorer. Navigate to directory that contains the PDF file that you want to attach to LinkedIn, click on the PDF, and then click “Open” to begin uploading it. A notification will appear that says “Success” when the file has been uploaded to your LinkedIn profile.

Hover your cursor over “Profile” at the top of the LinkedIn home page, and then select “View Profile” to see your profile. Scroll down to the Box box to see the document or documents that you’ve attached to your LinkedIn profile.
